Hi Mark and thanks for your comments. I agree that we need to drop the notion of “work is a place” – and certainly just being in an office has been no guarrantee of productivity! Perhaps its just me, but I do think we still need to think about the impact of the working environment we pick though: laptops on a sunlit deckchair look seductive but they break every ergonomic rule in the book!

Happy New Year Sam and a great assessment. Digital workplace and the ‘network’ being somewhere other than an office will increase because the ‘corporate office’ is such a illogical place to position innovation workers. I would like to see 2012 as the year we rid ourselvces of the ‘work from home’ label and just use ‘on the network’ to label when someone is online.

Would be great to hear more on how you see this working Brian. I know most feedback systems at the moment like star rating and ‘Like’ are contentious as a reflection of quality because they can be ambiguous about what someone is rating (e.g. a high-quality redundancy communication is unlikely to get 5 stars).
